Fansly is rolling out its strictest moderation update ever — and in 2026, enforcement is faster and second chances are rarer. Here's what changed and what it means for creators.
What is now fully banned
- Photorealistic deepfakes. Synthetic content that mimics real humans is prohibited without exceptions — even with the depicted person's consent. This is the toughest change the industry has seen.
- Screenshots and financial information. Platform screenshots, banking details and payment confirmations in content are now a rule violation.
- Furry content — removed from the allowed list as part of the crackdown on animal-related themes.
- Everything involving minors, coercion, animals or substance use remains an instant ban — now without a warning.
AI content: allowed, with conditions
AI-generated content is not banned, but it operates under narrow rules:
- clear disclosure is mandatory — undisclosed AI content gets removed fast;
- it is only acceptable based on your own verified likeness;
- virtual personas posing as real people and automated response systems without human oversight are fully prohibited.
Collaborations: paperwork on every upload
Collaborative content requires signed consent from every participant plus their verification. Some jurisdictions go further: North Carolina's HB805 (in effect since December 2025) requires documentation for every upload of collaborative content. For teams shooting couple content, this changes the routine — a blanket "consent for everything" no longer works.
Age verification and streaming
Several US states now route age verification through third-party ID checks. Streaming requires verification, broadcasting through OBS-style tools, a subscription check before showing 18+ content, and active chat moderation.
